Service Description
This is our most popular trip, and for good reason. There aren't too many places in the world where you can gain an appreciation for the amazing natural resources that are provided to us and a working harbor with many examples of engineering wonders. You do it all on this trip and you will have an expert guide with you. We start the trip on the Upper St. Marys river and then go with the flow down stream for 7 miles. There is one major obstruction at one spot in the river, but fortunately, we will not have to portage around it. Our trip takes us through the locks to experience the 21 foot drop in water levels, just like the freighters. After we are released from the locks, we continue our trip down the St. Marys with much history, natural environment and functioning business on both shores of the river to talk about. Be ready for a challenging and rewarding trip as you paddle between the twin Saults. *Please contact us if you would like to set up a trip outside of the pre-scheduled options.
